DURANT, Okla. –
Emma Thompson added to her awards this week by picking up Great American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week after taking first place individually and leading Southeastern women's golf to its first team title at the Grace Shin Invitational in Edmond, Okla.
Â
Thompson, a sophomore from McKinney, Texas, was four-under-par for her two-day tournament, firing rounds of 71 and 67 at the 5,922-yard, par 71 Golf Club of Edmond.
Â
She posted five birdies on day one to offset her bogeys, while on day two she carded just one over-par hole while adding five more birdies on her way to a program-best score of 67.
Â
Her efforts helped lift SE to its first team title for the women's golf program after winning a playoff versus conference foe Henderson State.
Â
Thompson and Southeastern will be back in action on Oct. 11-13 in Kearney, Neb., for the 2026 Central Region Preview.
