DURANT, Okla. – The Southeastern men's tennis program got its first win of the season during its home opener on Tuesday, taking down Collin College 4-1 at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
SE held the early advantage in the match, leading 2-1 after
Luke Tinnock posted a straight-sets win at Court 2 over Boitshepo Maake.
Nolan Guerin followed with a win at spot 3 to push the Storm out to a 3-1 lead. Guerin battled back from a set down against Ander Huelamo and rattled off 6-4 and 6-2 wins in sets two and three to pick up the win.
Eric Poindexter clinched the match for Southeastern at line four, posting the second straight-sets win for SE on the day. Poindexter made quick work of Collin College's Santiago Martinez in the first set, winning 6-2, and followed with a dominant 6-1 win in set two.
Southeastern (1-4) opens conference play at home on Tuesday, Mar. 3, at 1 p.m. when the Storm hosts Emporia State.
