BETHANY, Okla. – Southeastern piled up 37 runs on 32 hits with 10 home runs to pick up wins in both ends of a Saturday doubleheader and sweep the road series over Southern Nazarene.

The Savage Storm cruised to a 21-8 win in the opener before rallying and holding on for a 16-13 win.

The sweep lifts SE to 11-5 overall on the season and 7-2 in Great American Conference play heading into a midweek matchup with rival East Central at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3 at Mike Mwtheny Field.

In the opener, the Storm connected on eight homers, with
Ryan Kirk,
Carter Olson, and
Austin Parker each hitting two, while
Isaac Villa and
Jax Heid each homered once.
Â
Kirk finished the game with five hits and four RBI with three runs scored.
Â
Olson followed with three hits and a four RBI while scoring four runs.
Â
Parker had two hits and a game-high five RBI, while
Jacob Ambriz and Heid each had two hits, with Villa,
JJ Bush,
Alex Showalter, and
Tyler Payton had one each as the Storm finished with 18 in the game.

Estevan Fonsecsa got the start and moved to 3-0 on the season with the win after allowing five runs, four earned on eight hits over five innings.

David Brown followed with an inning, allowing three runs on four hits before
Chase Wernimont came on for a scoreless inning.

SE wasted little time with Kirk homering in the second at bat of the game and two batters later Olson connected on a two-run blast to push the lead to 3-0.

SNU answered in the bottom half with a pair of runs.
Â
In the top of the second a two-run Heid home stretched the lead to 5-2 and it hit 8-2 an inning later when Olson hit a two-run homer and Parker went back-to-back a batter later.

SNU picked up two runs in the bottom of the third, closing to 8-4, but back-to=back Savage Storm homers to lead off the fourth pushed the SE advantage to 10-4 and it hit 11-4 later in the inning on an RBI single by Ambriz.

Southeastern exploded for eight runs in the top of the fifth, powered by a Parker grand slam to go with RBI from Kirk, Heid, Payton, and Kirk again in his second at bat in the inning, pushing the lead to 19-4.

SNU picked up a run in the bottom of the fifth and three more in the sixth, cutting the Storm advantage to 19-8, but a Bush two-run single in the top of the seventh edged the lead to 21-8 which would be the final in a run-rule in seven innings.

In the series finale, Kirk and Olson added another homer each, while Showalter turned in three hits, with Villa, Parker, Heid, and Carpenter each adding two.

Villa drove in a team-high three runs, with Kirk and Olson plating two, while Bush, Parker, Showalter, Heid, and Carpenter drove in one each.

Jacob Fuller got the start and lasted three innings, allowing four runs on nine hits before handing to
Juan Berrios who allowed four runs on three hits without recording an out.

Carson Abbott picked up a win in relief, allowing five runs on six hits with five strikeouts in 3.1 innings of work.

Marcus Mott followed before
Brock Zimmer closed the game, earning a save in two-thirds of an inning of work.

Bush singled home a run in the top of the first inning, but SNU answered with a run to even the game at 1-1.

Heid brought home a run on an RBI single in the second, and a Parker RBI single ni the third let the Storm open a 3-1 lead.

The Crimson Storm picked up a run in the bottom of the third, but Southeastern answered with a Villa RBI, a run on a wild pitch, an Olson bases-loaded walk and pair of runs on an error to extend the lead to 8-2.

SNU answered with a nine-run bottom of the fourth, taking an 11-8 lead.

In the top of the fifth a Villa RBI groundout followed by homers from Kirk and Olson let the Storm push back in front 12-11.

Southern Nazarene led off the bottom of the fifth with a solo homer to knot the game at 12-12.
Â
Carpenter and Villa each drove in a run in the sixth, pushing the Storm lead to 14-12, but SNU would cut it to 14-13 in the bottom half.

Southeastern got the final word in the top of the seventh with a pair of runs on an error, pushing the score to 16-13 which would be the final score.
