EL DORADO, Ark. – The Southeastern women's golf program makes it back-to-back top-five tournament finishes, placing fifth at the Arkansas Collegiate after two rounds with a final score of 72-over 648. The Savage Storm rounded out the last day, shooting 40-over 328.
Henderson State moved into first to win the two-day event with a score of 33-over 609, edging out Weatherford, which rose to second with a 40-over 616. Union (TN) dropped to third place with a score of 41-over 617, and Harding (+52) would finish fourth to round out the top five.
Carley Button and
Addison Oestreicher put in the best scores on day two for SE, as the pair both shot 8-over 80. Button at the end of 36 holes tied for 17
th individually with a score of 13-over 157 and recorded five birdies over the two rounds – all coming on the front nine. After turning in an 8-over 80 round two, Oestreicher placed 23
rd on the player leaderboard with a combined score of 15-over 159.
Karen Kim turned in a 10-over 82 during round two to finish the event 19-over 163 and tied for 29
th. Over the two days, Kim scattered three birdies and recorded 15 pars.
Kaeli Drake tied for 38
th with a score of 25-over 169 after registering a 14-over 86 score in the second round.
Ally Richard matched Drake's second-round score with a 14-over 86 and finished 26-over 170 at the end of 36 holes of play.
Southeastern travels to Sioux Falls, S.D., on April 6 and 7 to compete in the Augustana Invitational at the Elmwood Golf Course.
