SIOUX FALLS, S. D. – The Southeastern women's golf team placed fourth at the Augustana Invitational at the end of 36 holes of play with a score of 55-over Par. The Savage Storm began the day with a +35 round and followed that with a +20 in the second round.
Carley Button paced the SE lineup at the end of two rounds with a score of 8-over 152 and finished second individually. Button shot 6-over 78 in the first round and improved her score in the second, recording a 2-over 74 with a trio of birdies. Just two strokes behind,
Karen Kim fired in rounds of 7-over 79 and 3-over 75 to end day one 10-over 154 and ended the event tied for third.
Ally Richard and
Meredith Reid matched each other on day one, both turning in a 22-over 166 to place tied for 30th. Richard got her day started with a 13-over 85 in the first round and later shot 9-over 81 in the second, while Reid recorded rounds of 16-over 88 and 6-over 78.
Kaeli Drake rounded out the day for Southeastern with a 29-over 173 over the 36 holes of play. Drake opened play with a 9-over 81 and later shot 20-over 92 in the second round.
SE will now turn its attention to the Great American Conference Tournament on April 12-14 in Tulsa, Okla., at the Page Belcher Golf Course.
