Carley Button is set to represent the Savage Storm at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship on May 12-14. This year's championship is in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., at the PGA National Resort.Â

Button made history in her last appearance on the course, finishing second at the NCAA Central Regional Tournament to punch her ticket to Nationals. The junior was the program's first signee in 2022 and has since become the first player to qualify for the Central Regional and NCAA Tournament in the team's short history.

At the Central Regional, the Denton, Texas native, scattered nine birdies over the three rounds of play, including five in round three, where she turned in her best performance with a 1-under 71. Button shot 2-over 74 in round one and 5-over 77 in the second to end with a combined score of 6-over 222 and finish one stroke off of first place.

The GAC Honorable Mention player has earned a top-five placement in her last four tournaments and has six top-ten finishes this season. Among those top-five finishes, Button received All-Tournament honors for placing fifth at the GAC Tournament, which is the highest individual finish by a Storm player. The Denton, Texas native currently ranks as the No. 20 individual in the region with a 76.7 stroke average across 12 events and 27 rounds of play.
