2019 Rodeo Hall of Fame Class
Larry Dyson
Larry Dyson is a long-time supporter of Southeastern Rodeo and can trace his rodeo connection back to his youth.
He was born in Durant, Okla., and raised in Yuba, Okla., where he was an active member of the school's sports teams as well as the 4H club, showing steers and pigs. He also participated in rodeo both at the high school level as well as on the amateur circuit.
After graduating from Yuba HS he attended Southeastern.
Dyson started working in the automobile business in 1969 and spent the next 44 years in the industry, with the last 21 of those being in Durant.
He and his wife Judy currently live in Bonham, Texas, but maintain a farm in southeastern Bryan County at Yarnaby and have been active in breeding and racing thoroughbred horses.
The couple have three children, nine grandchildren and five great granddaughters.
Kollin VonAhn
Kollin VonAhn attended Southeastern from 2002-2006 and was a team roper over those four seasons.
He was ultimately a three-time College National Finals Rodeo qualifier in the team roping, taking home the top prize in a team roping national championship in 2005 with partner Ryan Carter.
With Carter heading and VonAhn heeling the duo would add a sixth-place finish in the CNFR in 2006 and had already taken home a fourth-place finish in 2004 in their first CNFR appearance.
He joined the PRCA in 2006 and has since qualified for the National Finals Rodeo five times, winning two world titles and earning nearly a million dollars in winnings.
VonAhn, partnered with Nick Sartain, won round four and placed in six other rounds to take home his first championship, winning the average with a 59.2, just one-tenth of a second off the NFR record, and taking home his first world title.
In 2013, VonAhn and partner Luke Brown placed in six rounds of the Wrangler NFR en route to winning the average title for the second time in his career and finishing second in the world standings with $166,291. In 2015, the duo won round eight and placed in five other rounds at the Wrangler NFR to win his third WNFR average title and second world team roping championship
VonAhn hails from Sac City, Iowa but currently resides in Blanchard, Okla., with his wife Angie Meadors, a WPRA barrel racer, and daughter Steele.
