Charlie Means took over the men's and women's golf programs during the summer of 2025, becoming the ninth golf coach in SE history.
Means makes the transition to SE after spending the last four seasons as the head coach for men's and women's golf at Denison High School in Denison, Texas.
While guiding the Yellow Jackets he made a pair of UIL 5A Region 2 Championship appearances and 100 percent of his seniors have earned Academic All-District honors, with five of them ultimately earning Academic All-State recognition.
In his time at DHS, he oversaw the program hosting 15 tournaments across three different courses and was able to assemble an indoor practice facility that included two simulators, four hitting bays, and indoor putting and chipping areas.
Means has additionally served throughout the state golf community, most recently as the UIL State Tournament Rules Official and the Texas High School Coaches Association Golf Advisory Council and has additionally volunteered at PGA and LPGA events.
Prior to taking over the golf program at Denison HS Means served as an assistant football coach for the Yellow Jackets from 2000-through-2021, with the final 10 years of that run coming as the team's offensive coordinator.
He has also coached track and field and baseball throughout his career at DHS, and got his coaching career started at Bells HS where he coached football, baseball, and basketball from 1997 through June of 2000.
