Chris Ellison joined the Southeastern coaching staff in the spring of 2021 where he works with the team's defensive linemen.
He makes the move to join the Savage Storm after starting his coaching career at his alma mater McPherson as a defensive line coach in 2018.
His 2021 season was highlighted by Alexce Marshall who earned All-GAC honors and led the defensive line in tackles with 53, including 8.5 tackles for loss, with Marshal again leading the way in 2022 on his way to a second All-GAC selection.
The 2023 squad was led by Jordan Hood who was sixth on the team in total tackles with 44, while Kevin Simes posted a team-best nine sacks.
Ellison played on the McPherson defensive line for two seasons (2012-13) after spending two seasons at Tyler (Texas) Junior College.Â
A native of Red Oak, Texas, Ellison earned an Associate of Arts in criminal justice from Tyler in 2011 and a Bachelor of Science in sociology from McPherson in 2013.Â
