SE Looks for Big Win in Finale

Live Video | Live Stats

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will bring its regular season to a close in what might be the biggest game of the year when it hosts Southwestern Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. on Nov. 8 in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.

With the Savage Storm at 5-26 on the season and 3-10 in Great American Conference play, the team finds itself fighting for the final spot in the 2012 GAC tournament.

With a win against the Bulldogs SE would advance as the No. 8 seed, just as they would with a loss by Henderson State to Ouachita Baptist on Thursday night in Arkadelphia, Ark.  A loss by the Storm coupled with an HSU win would bring SE's season to a premature close.

Southeastern is looking to regain some momentum after back-to-back losses broke up a stretch where SE won three of four outings.

As the team has all year they will be looking to Emily Gentle and Megan Kunkel to power the offense.

Gentle averages 3.06 kills per set, while Kunkel is at 2.89 kps.

They will be looking to Madelynne Cera to distribute the ball as the setter is averaging 5.17 assists per set while adding 1.16 kps and 2.04 digs per set.

Taylor Benner leads the defensive charge with 3.94 digs per set on the year, while Jasmine Everage's 79 blocks on the season leads the team.

SWOSU comes into the contest at 12-18 overall on the year and 10-4 in league play.

They are led by Allison Cole and Adriana Rodriguez on offense as they each average just over two kills per set.

Lindsay Dusin leads the setters with 5.14 assists per set, while Saasha Jacobson leads the defense on the back row with 3.37 digs per set and Cole leads the defense at the net with 89 blocks.
