Storm Wins Third-Straight GAC Game

Box Score DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern shot 50.0 percent from the floor and held off a late Harding rally to come away with a 67-64 win on Saturday afternoon in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
The win lifts the Savage Storm to 7-3 overall on the year and 3-1 in Great American Conference play as the team will now face a near month-long break before hosting Southern Arkansas on Jan. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
Chris Roussell turned in another team-leading scoring performance with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field with a 4-of-5 mark from behind the arc.
 
Antonio Worthy joined him in double figures with 12 points as did Andris Misters who turned in 11.
 
Worthy also finished with a double-double by hauling in 10 rebounds, while SE held a 34-to-27 edge on the glass.
 
Travis Timmons returned to form with a game-best nine assists.
 
The Storm were 50.0 percent from the floor and hit 9-of-16 from long range for a 56.3 percent mark.
 
Harding led in second chance points, points off turnovers and points in the paint, while the only specialty stat SE led in was points off turnovers.
 
The teams traded buckets early with Harding holding the advantage until a Misters' three triggered a 7-0 run that featured back-to-back Roussell buckets.
 
Southeastern would never trail again in the contest, finishing the half with a 38-28 advantage.
 
The Bisons would cut the Storm advantage to three points early in second half, but SE would push it back out to double figures on a Roussell layup at the 10:41 mark.
 
HU would continue to whittle away at the SE lead until it was just 62-60 with 2:00 to play.
 
A Worthy layup would answer, but the lead would return to two points after a Zach Roddenberry bucket with 1:07 to play.
 
Steven Kohli would sink a pair of free throws with 33 seconds left and after another bucket from Harding would step to the line and make one of two with 11 seconds to play to keep the Storm up by three points.
 
Harding's final three point try was off the mark and Worthy would haul in the rebound to preserve the 67-64 win.
