DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern wrapped up a 2-0 day by posting a 3-0 win over in-state rival Cameron on Friday night in the final match of day one of the South Central Classic in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 4-2 on the year after SE opened the day with a 3-0 win over Mid-America Christian.

Southeastern will be back in action on Saturday as the South Central Classic continues in Bloomer Sullivan Arena, facing Maryville at 1 p.m. and Central Oklahoma at 7 p.m.

Against the Aggies SE opened with a 25-20 win after taking six of the last seven points. In the second set the Storm held a lead for much of the match, leading 22-18 before CU scored three-straight to close within one, but SE would end the run and hold on for a 25-23 win. In the third, Cameron jumped out to an early lead, but a five-point run moved the Storm out to a 15-11 advantage which SE would not surrender en route to a 25-28 win in the clinching set.

Emily Gentle led the offense with a match-high 11 kills, while
Madelynne Cera came on offensively in the last two sets and finished with eight kills.Â
Ariel Sanders added seven.

Cera pitched in 29 assists in the contest and rounded out a complete match with eight digs as well as one block.

Taylor Benner led the defense on the back row with a season-high 25 digs which is tied for fourth-most digs in a three set match in SE history.Â
Megan Kunkel chipped in 14 digs, while Gentle posted a double-double with 10.

Sanders was in on three of SE's four team blocks in the match, while Gentle was in on two.
