Savage Storm Win Second-Straight

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern picked up its second-straight win on Monday night when it cruised to an 87-60 victory over Dallas Christian in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 3-5 heading into a Dec. 3 matchup with Missouri S&T at 7:30 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

SE had five players in double-figures, led by Danny Powell who finished with 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting with a pair of threes.

Quinton Threadgill was right behind with 14 points, as was Taylor Smaller, while Antonio Worthy added 11 and Anton Cook chipped in 10.

The offense shot 44.3 percent from the field while holding DCC to a 29.0 percent shooting effort.

The Storm hit 14-of-30 threes on the night as well, while on defense they held a 54-to-43 edge in rebounding and added 10 blocked shots.

Smaller dished out a game-high seven assists, while Threadgill and Pedro Faria each added five while the Storm combined for 28 on 31 made shots.

Darius Harris pulled down a game-best 12 rebounds, while Worthy just missed his double-double with nine boards.

Worthy also added six blocks on the night and Trevor Jackson provided the other four.

SE had a little trouble shaking the Crusaders early as the visitors would eventually take an 8-7 lead with 15:20 to play in the first half, but a Powell bucket would put the Storm back in front.

DCC would then tie the game with 12:19 to play in the half, but a pair of Powell free throws would kick off a 9-0 run that would put the Storm up for good.

Southeastern would take a lead of 16 points on a Worthy layup with 1:50 to go in the half before settling on a 39-26 lead thanks to a Cole Hughes three with four second to play.

The lead would hover between 13 and 18 points for much of the second half before a 10-0 run capped by a Cook layup with 5:30 to play opened up a 74-50 lead.

That advantage would grow to 29 points before finishing at the 87-60 final score.
