DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern got its offense back on track with a season-high 96 points as it cruised to its eighth-straight victory to open the season, downing Dallas Christian 96-30 on Monday night in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The Savage Storm improved to 8-0 and will jump back into Great American Conference play on Dec. 6 when it travels to Southern Nazarene for a 6 p.m. contest.

Both the offense and the defense put up big numbers, with SE hitting 49.3 percent from the field overall and 47.1 percent from three point range where they connected on 16-of-34 attempts.

The offense combined to dish out 30 assists on 36 made buckets and scored 12 fast break points.

The defense held DCC to 26.1 percent shooting on the night, forced 34 turnovers and snagged a season-best 22 steals.

The offense would turn those 34 turnovers into 43 points on the other ends, while SE also took advantage of 18 offensive rebounds for 19 second chance points.

Shelby Hill led all scorers with 18, connecting on 6-of-7 from long range for all her points.

Olivia Potter continued to pile up three point buckets, hitting 5-of-9 and finishing with 15 points, while
Miranda Schaefer added 13 and
Emem David chipped in 10.

Rachel Wallace turned in eight points, while the trio of
Madison Thames,
Emily Williams and
Sa'Liesha Hunter each added seven.

In all, 11 players collected an assist, with
Taylor Richards and
Emily Williams leading the way with six each, while four others had three apiece.

Williams and Schaefer matched one another with a game high four steals, while Thames, Wallace and Richards each chipped in three.

The Storm also held a 44-to-34 edge in rebounding, with
Kaylie Baxter and David leading the way with seven board each, while Hill added six.

SE scored the first five points of the game and at the 14:45 mark Wallace drained a three to give the Storm its first double-digit lead of the day at 13-2.

That advantage would cross the 20-point mark with 8:19 to play in the half on a Hunter jumper, and climb all the way to the halftime deficit of 46-14.

The second half was more of the same as the Storm hit 10-of-20 from long range over the final 20 minutes and outscored the Crusaders 50-16 to pull away for the 96-30 victory.
