DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern challenged in every set, but was unable to get over the hump against Southern Arkansas in a 3-0 loss on Friday night in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 4-19 on the year and 2-8 in Great American Conference play as they will welcome Arkansas-Monticello to town on a short turnaround with a 1 p.m. match on Saturday afternoon.

SE dropped the opening set 25-20 and matched that score in the second set. SAU would take the third set 25-23 to clinch the match.

SE was led by
Abby Jameson who turned in 10 kills, followed directly by
Julia Benford with nine.

The Storm spread its kills around as
Erika Costain added five, while Alissa and
Maggie Benson each chipped in four.

Alissa Benson added 29 assists in the match to trigger the offense.

Charlene Nerio led the back row with 15 digs, with Jameson next in line at seven.

At the net the teams were even with four blocks each, with Jameson and Benford each posting two.

In the final set the Storm opened up an 11-5 lead early, but the Muleriders rallied to tie the set at 11-11 with six-straight points.

The Storm would rally from a 22-19 deficit and tie the set at 23-23 after taking four of five points in a stretch, but SAU would get the final two points.
