STEPHENVILLE, Texas - Southeastern was unable to recover from a late first half run by No. 12 Tarleton State, falling on the road in the final game of the 2015 calendar year 81-55 in Stephenville, Texas on Thursday evening.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 4-6 on the season as they will return home for their next action on Jan. 7 at 7:30 p.m. against Arkansas Tech.

Anton Cook was the offensive highlight for SE as he finished the game with 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting that included a 3-of-5 effort from long range.

Tyler Lonzie also broke double figures with 11 points, while
DJ Henderson and
Quinton Threadgill each hit a pair of threes and finished with six point apiece.

Cook and Lonzie also led the way on the boards with six rebounds each, while the Storm were outrebounded 44-to-31 on the night.

Cook scored the first 10 points of the game for the Storm, but were outscored over that span by a 17-10 margin.

The lead would stretch to double figures before the Storm rallied, closing the gap to 27-25 on a Lonzie three with 5:30 to go in the half.

TSU would finish the half on a 16-5 run to leave the Storm trailing 43-30 at the break.

The second half was trouble for SE as they would shoot 31.8 percent from the field and 20 percent from behind the arc as the Texans outscored the Storm 38-25 over the second 20 minutes to fashion the 81-55 final.
