DURANT, Okla.  – Southeastern used a 21 hit outing to pick up an 11-6 win in game one over Southern Arkansas, but was relegated to a split on Friday afternoon with a 25-4 loss in the nightcap at the Ballpark in Durant.

The Savage Storm move to 14-19 overall on the season and 10-8 in Great American Conference play with the rubber match in the series set for 1 p.m. on Saturday.

In the opener,
Brandon Grimsley turned in a career day with a 5-for-5 outing that included five RBI and four runs scored with a home run.

Jacob Soisson added four hits and
Dylan Helms had three, while
Kaleb Thomas,
Chance Burcham,
Connor Counce and
Conner Koepp each had two.
Â
In addition to Grimsley's five RBI, Counce and Koepp each added a pair, while
Corban Taylor and Burcham each had one.

Logan Terwilliger got the start but faced just five batters after slowing four hits and three runs before handing the ball to
Evan Sanders who tossed 6.0 innings and allowed three runs on three hits with eight strikeouts.

Cody Luman would come on in the seventh inning and strikeout two and allow one hit, but picked up the win to move to 1-1 on the year.

Brady Colbert came on for the game's final two innings and picked up his fourth save after facing the minimum and striking out two.

SAU jumped ahead early with three in the first and two more in the second.

A Grimsley solo homer would get a run back for the Storm, but the Muleriders would add one more for a 6-1 lead midway through the fourth.

A Buircham RBI single and a Koepp RBI groundout would close the gap to 6-3 after four.
Â
Grimsley and Koepp would then add RBI singles in the sixth to close the gap further to 6-5.

Grimsley would then tie the score with an RBI single in the seventh, with Counce putting the Storm in front with a two-run single for an 8-6 lead.

In the eighth inning Taylor would add an RBI single followed by a two-run Grimsley single to push the lead to 11-6 which would hold to be the final.

The nightcap was an entirely different story for SE as they opened the game on a high note with four runs in the first inning, but allowed 10 runs in the second en route to 25 unanswered runs over the next six innings to fashion the 25-4 final score.

Seven players collected hits in the game for the Storm with Taylor homering and driving in three runs, while
Logan Terwilliger added a double and
Collin Sefcik drove in the team's other run.

Dylan Linke was saddled with the loss and fell to 2-2 after allowing 10 runs, only three of which were earned, on eight hits with a pair of strikeouts.
