DURANT, Okla.  – Southeastern polished off a four game sweep of Arkansas-Monticello on Friday afternoon with a pair of run-rule victories, taking game one 8-0 in five innings and game two 13-3 in six innings at the Southeastern Softball Field.

The wins push the team's current win streak to seven games and lifts the Savage Storm record to 19-16 overall and 15-5 in Great American Conference play heading into an April 7 matchup with East Central at the Southeastern Softball Field.

Jacee Bennett turned in a gem in the opener, finishing with a complete-game, one-hit shutout for her 11
th win, striking out two and facing just 20 batters.

On offense,
Jessica Simmons finished the game 3-folr-3 with a pair of runs scored, while
Courtney Riddle added a 2-for-2 effort with an RBI and a run scored. Six others registered a hit as the Storm held an 11-to-1 edge in hits.

Laramie Beal put the Storm on the board with a two-run single in the first inning that scored Riddle and Simmons.

Two batters later
Arianna Jones doubled home Beal, which was followed one batter later by an RBI single by
Jordyn James which scored
Haley Strawn and staked SE to a 4-0 lead.

Jones would add a sac fly in the third which was followed immediately by another James RBI single to stretch the lead to 6-0.

Kramer would tack on a run with an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth, followed one batter later by a Riddle RBI single to give SE the 8-0 lead it needed for the run rule.

In the series finale
Jessica Seay posted a complete game of her own to pick up her seventh win of the year after tossing 6.0 innings and allowing three runs on three hits with a pair of strikeouts.

Strawn turned in a 4-for-4 performance at the plate, while Kramer, Jones and
Breanna Smith each had a pair of hits.

Jones and Bennett each posted three RBI, while Beal drive in two.

UAM jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, but the Storm found its first answer when Jones stole third and scored on a throwing error in the second inning.

SE then took advantage of a pair of errors in the third along with a two-run single by Beal, a three-run homer by Jones and an RBI single by Smith to post six runs and mount a 7-3 lead.

Strawn would drive in another run in the fourth to push the edge to 8-3.

Kramer and Riddle each added an RBI in the fifth to stretch the advantage to 10-3.

Bennett, in a pinch-hitting appearance, would complete the win in walk-off fashion by connecting on a three-run homer to right to fashion the 13-3 final score.
