DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern finished strong on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State to bounce back after opening the day with a a 3-1 loss to Texas A&M-Commerce on day two of the South Central Classic in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 2-6 on the year heading into the Great American conference opener on Sept. 15 against Southern Nazarene in Bethany, Okla.

Abby Jameson led the way with 13 kills against OPSU, while
Jessica Baker added 10 kills while hitting .450 on 20 attempts.

Baker would also lead the way in digs with 13 for a double-double, while
Charlene Nerio added 10.

Alissa Benson dished out 34 assists to trigger the offense, while the defense was paced at the net by Jameson,
Jessica Baker and
Arianna Baker who had two blocks each.

SE used a 7-1 run to take the lead and then held off a late OPSU charge to win the set 25-21.

The Storm reeled off a 12-4 start to the second set and never looked back en route to a 25-13 win and a 2-0 lead.

Southeastern fell behind in the third set, but used a 10-2 run to regain the lead again held off a late charge to secure the 25-20 win in the third and clenching set.

Jameson led the way in the day's opener against TAMUC as well with 15 kills while hitting .324, while
Julia Benford hit .333 and collected 10 kills.
Arianna Baker chipped in nine in the effort while also hitting .333.

Benson had an all-around game flirted with a triple-double after dishing out 35 assists, adding 11 digs and turning in seven kills.

Benson and
Caitlyn Mills led the back row defense with 11 digs each, while
Arianna Baker posted four blocks at the net and
Maggie Benson chipped in three.

SE used an 11-1 run to take control of the opening set and pulled away for a 25-17 win.

The second set was back-and-forth with the Storm taking an 18-16 lead, but the Lions closed with nine of the last 13 points to take the set 25-22 and event he match at 1-1.

In the third set the Storm jumped ahead early, but TAMUC used a 10-2 run to go up 16-10 and eventually take the set 25-17.

In the fourth set the Storm rallied late to close the gap to 24-23, but was unable to close off the comeback as the Lions got the final point to take the clenching set 25-23.
