DURANT, Okla. – Despite out-killing and out-digging Ouachita Baptist, Southeastern was unable to close out after taking the first set and fell 3-1 on Friday night in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 8-12 overall and 1-7 in Great American Conference play heading into a Saturday afternoon matchup with Henderson State at 1 p.m.

Abby Jameson turned in her best outing since the season opener with 21 kills on the contest to lead a trio of double-digit attackers.

Karine Cavalcante added 15 kills and
Erika Costain turned in 12.

The Storm held a 59-to-55 edge in kills, but also committed more errors than the Tigers by a mark of 31-to-23.

Alissa Benson dished out 48 assists and wrapped up a double-double with 16 digs.

Csitlin Cosby continued to shine on the back row with a career-best 36 digs to lead all defenders, while Benson was next in line with her 16, followed by Cavalcante with 14 and Jameson with 11.

SE held a 91-to-87 edge in digs as well.

Julia Benford led the Storm with three blocks, including a pair of solo blocks.

Southeastern overcame an early six point deficit in the opening set, and with a 7-1 run to end the set would rally for a 25-20 win to open a 1-0 lead.

The Storm led for much of the second set, going out in front by a score of 19-12, but the Tigers would tie the match with an 8-1 run to knot the score at 20-20. SE would jump out to a 23-20 lead, but OBU would take seven of the last nine points to steal the set 27-25 and even the match at 1-1.

The third set was back-and-forth, with the Tigers taking a late 22-18 lead, which SE nearly erased with three-straight points. However, OBU would take three of the last four points to win the set 25-22 and take a 2-1 lead.

The Storm played from behind for much of the fourth set, closing the gap to 20-19 late. The hopes of a rally would come to an end with OBU taking five of the final seven points to win the set 25-21 and the match 3-1.
