KINGSVILLE, Texas – Southeastern picked up its third-straight win and left the TAMUK Thanksgiving Classic with a 64-59 win over host Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday night in Kingsville, Texas.

The Savage Storm improves to 4-3 on the season and will return home on Dec. 1 for its first home Great American Conference matchup when it hosts Ouachita Baptist at 7:30 p.m.

Nathan Jackson turned in 17 points on a 5-of-8 shooting from the floor with a 7-of-9 performance from the free throw line.

Kevin Buckingham followed with 12 points with a pair of threes, with Anton Cook chipping in 10 with a pair of threes as well.

Jett Jobe dished out a game-high five assists out of the 10 the team turned in combined.

Defensively SE held an edge on the glass of 41-to-35, led by nine from Jackson while Tyler Lonzie and Marti FOnolla added five each.

Jackson also added four steals of the team's eight.

The contest featured 11 ties and six lead changes, with neither team leading by more than nine points.

One of those nine-point leads came early in the first half at the Storm jumped out to a 17-8 lead on a Fonolla fastbreak bucket at the 13:56 mark.

TAMUK would whittle the SE edge down until knotting the game at 32-32 with 1:22 to play in the half which would hold to be the halftime score.

Neither team would hold more than a four-point lead in the first 10 minutes of the second half and after a pair of Jackson free throws at the 5:52 mark SE would regain a one point lead.

The Javelinas would tie the game twice after that, the last at 59-59 with 2L41 to play.

After trading fruitless possessions it was Jackson putting back an offensive rebound and drawing a foul. He converted the three-point play and SE led 62-59 with 33 seconds to play.

Jackson would put the final nail in with seven seconds when he scored a dunk on the fastbreak off a Jobe pass to fashion he 64-59 final score.
