DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern bounced back from a loss in the opener and held off a late rally in game two to earn a split with No. 13 Angelo State on Friday afternoon at The Ballpark in Durant, taking game two 5-4 after dropping the opener 10-1.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 4-4 on the season with the rubber-match in the series set for noon on Saturday.

In the nightcap
Scott Richards turned in his longest outing of the season to pick up his second win, going 6.2 innings and allowing four runs, three earned, on eight hits while striking out five.

Brady Colbert came on in relief and picked up his second save of the season by recording the final out.
Â
Greg Husnander connected on a solo homer as five SE players each had a hit.

Brandon Grimsley,
Bryson Allen and
Logan Terwilliger each added an RBI.

The Storm fell behind in the top of the first as ASU took advantage of three hits and an error to take a 2-0 lead.

SE had an answer with
Dylan Helms singling to open the inning and moving to second when
Kaleb Thomas was hit by a pitch.

Helms and Thomas would score on a Grimsley single, using an error which allowed Thomas to come home and Grimsley to move around to third.

An Allen sac fly would break the tie and give Southeastern a 3-2 lead.

Terwilliger would add a run in the second with a triple that scored
Corban Taylor who led off the inning with a single.

Husnander would connect on a solo homer off the scoreboard with two outs in the third inning to stretch the lead out to 5-2.

Neither team would get anything going in the fourth through the sixth innings, but the Rams would collect four hits and take advantage of a second SE error to plate a pair of runs and load the bases, but Colbert would coax a groundout to first base to end the game and save the win.

The opener went against the Storm from the beginning as ASU put up a pair of runs in the top of the first and jumped out to a 6-0 lead with four more in the third.

Allen would drive in Terwilliger in the fifth on a sacrifice fly, but the Rams would add two runs in the sixth and two more in the top of the ninth to hand SE a 10-1 loss.

Grimsley collected the only Storm hit in the contest with Allen driving in Terwilliger for an RBI and a run scored, respectively.

Keyton Jameson got the start, but lasted 2.0 innings and was saddled with the loss after allowing six runs on five hits with three strikeouts.

Michael Brinska tossed 3.0 innings in relief and allowed a pair of runs on five hits with two K's.
Â
Mike Wade would add 3.0 innings pitched as well without allowing a run on just one hit with four strikeouts.

Tad Holt would finish the game with an inning, allowing a pair of runs on one hit with a pair of strikeouts.
