SHAWNEE, Okla. – Southeastern closed out the GAC-MIAA Crossover in Shawnee, Okla., with a Saturday split, dropping a 3-0 match to Washburn before closing the weekend with a 3-0 win over Southwest Baptist.

The wins locked up a 2-2 split for the weekend thanks to the Savage Storm 3-0 win over Pitt State on Friday evening and SE will now head into Great American Conference play with a 7 p.m. home matchup against Oklahoma Baptist on Sept. 20 in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.

SE was dominant in the weekend finale, sweeping the sets versus SBU by scores of 25-12, 25-16and 25-14.

The Storm hit .407 as a team for the match with 48 kills and just 13 errors.

Abby Jameson, Karine Cavalcante and Julia Benford each tallied 10 kills to match the match-high offensive output.

Alissa Benson added 36 assists and four service aces with seven digs in the effort.

Caitlin Cosby tallied 16 digs, while Cavalcante added 11 for the double-double.

Arianna Baker led the defense at the net with three blocks.

In the morning matchup it was quite the opposite as WU handed the Storm a sweep by scores of 25-11, 25-15 and 25-12.

Jameson turned in seven kills and Benford chipped in six.

Makenna Stillwell led the setting with 17 assists, while Cosby turned in 13 digs to lead the defense.
