RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – A rough second quarter outing proved to leave Southeastern too deep a hole to climb out of as it jumped back into Great American Conference play on Thursday night with a 69-51 road loss at Arkansas Tech in Russellville, Ark.

The loss dips the Savage Storm to 5-4 on the season overall and 3-2 in Great American Conference play heading into a Saturday afternoon matchup with Harding at 1 p.m. in Searcy, Ark.

No one reached double-figures for SE, with
Olivia Potter's nine points leading the Storm scorers while
Tracy Johnson added seven, with
Katie Webb,
Rachel Wallace and
Ariannah Kemp chipping in six apiece.

Southeastern shot 27.0 percent from the field overall and hit 21.1 percent from long range.

The team pulled down 45 rebounds, led by seven from Kemp with Wallace adding five.

The Storm played to a 15-15 tie after the first quarter, but was outscored 19-6 in the second quarter, including ATU scoring the final 10 points of the half and SE was in a 34-21 hole at the break.

The Golden Suns held a 19-13 edge in the third quarter, but SE responded in the fourth, cutting the home team's lead to 62-51 with 2:04 to play, however ATU would score the final seven points to fashion the 69-51 final score.
