DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern edged out a 4-3 win over Newman in Thursday's opener and finished off the day by exploding for 11 runs in the sixth inning of game two and rallying for a 14-6 run-rule victory in six innings.

The sweep lifts the Savage Storm to 6-4 on the year and will be back in action on Feb. 24-25 when it hosts Arkansas-Monticello for a four-game series.

The Storm played from behind for much of the opener as NU scored a pair of runs in the first inning to mount a 2-0 lead before SE answered with a
Conner Harmon two-run shot to knot the score in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Jets would respond by regaining the lead in the top of the fifth, but a Kennedy Salyer single would plate
Kailyn Blackwood to tie the game, and after stealing second and moving to third on a wild pitch, Salyers would score the go ahead run when
Destiny Riddle reached on an error.

The Storm would get out of trouble with a runner on second in the seventh to preserve the 4-3 win.

Harmon posted a 2-for-3 effort at the plate with a home runs and a pair of RBI, while Salyers, Riddle and
Emily Cudd tallied a hit each, with Salyers driving in a run.

Cudd collected the win after tossing 7.0 innings and allowing three runs on nine hits while striking out seven.

In the nightcap the Storm scored first with Riddle squeezing home
Symphoni Shomo in the bottom of the first to take a 1-0 lead.

That was short lived though as NU would break the game open with a five-run third inning to mount a 5-1 lead.

RBI singles by
Keeshia Thompson and Cudd in the fourth would trim the deficit to 5-3, but the Jets would tack on a run in the top of the sixth to take a 6-3 lead.

The Storm would answer in a big way in the bottom half of the sixth and
Jordyn James singled to open the inning, with Thompson and Cudd singling behind her to load the bases.

Shomo would then single home James to close it to 6-4 and two batter later Riddle would follow suit with an RBI single, followed by Cudd scoring the game-tying run on a wild pitch.

The merry-go-round was just getting started though as Harmon drew a walk to reload the bases, followed by five-straight RBI singles from
Mykaela Wallace,
Marisa Fleck, James, Thompson and Cudd to open up an 11-6 lead.

Two batters after Cudd it was Salyers who would bring the game to an early end with a three-run double whch extended the final score to 14-6 after tallying an 11 run bottom of the sixth inning.

Fleck, Thompson and Cudd each posted three hits in the contest, while Shomo, Riddle, Harmon and James added two apiece as the Storm piled up 19 in the game.
Â
Salyers would drive in a game-high three runs, while Riddle, Thompson and Cudd had two RBI each.
Â
Cudd collected the win in the finale as well, tossing the final two innings in relief and allowing a run on four hits with one strikeout.

Riddle got the start in the circle and allowed five runs on seven hits over three innings before
Ashley Moore registered an inning while allowing one hit.
