MONTICELLO, Ark. – Arkansas-Monticello scored three runs in first inning and Southeastern was unable to recovers as the Savage Storm dropped game one of the Great American Conference road series 7-1 on Friday afternoon in Monticello, Ark.

The loss drops SE to 1-9 on the year and 0-4 in league play with the final two games in the series set for Saturday at noon.

Cade Clay collected a pair of hits in the contest, while
Travis Spinney,
Hunter Harrison and
Cameron Roberts added a hit each.

Roberts also collected the team's RBI, with
Brett Akins scoring.

Brandon Wolski got the start and suffered the loss after tossing 4.0 innings and allowing five runs on eight hits with four strikeouts.

Hayden Grimes would toss 1.2 innings in relief and was tagged with a pair of runs on two hits.

Jake Patterson,
Tristen Wood and
Bailey Burks would combine to toss the final 2.1 innings and would do so without allowing a hit and striking out four.

UAM opened scoring with three runs in the first inning and extended that lead to 5-0 in the fifth before adding two more in the sixth to open up a 7-0 lead.

Akins opened the top of the ninth by getting hit by a pitch and moving to second on a passed ball before coming home when a pinch-hitting
Cameron Roberts connected on a one-out single to right center, putting SE on the board and fashioning the final score of 7-1.
