ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Southeastern held off a late fourth-quarter charge by Ouachita Baptist, making key plays in the final seconds to secure a 66-63 road victory on Saturday afternoon in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 12-7 overall and 10-5 in Great American Conference play.

Jordan Dawson made her first appearance since Jan. 18 and made the most of it late in the game.

First giving SE a 64-61 lead with one of her six points with 1:21 to play, but her highlight of the contest came with 11 seconds to play when she stood in and took a charge from Alivia Huell as the Storm held onto a precarious 64-63 lead.

OBU would be assessed a technical foul after Huell aggressively protested the call, sending
Katie Webb to the line where she would hit one of two free throws for a 65-63 lead.

Southeastern would also get the ball after the technical free throws and
Sa'Liesha Hunter would draw a foul and make one of her two free throws with 10 seconds to play to push the lead to 66-63.

A last ditch effort by OBU to tie the game would miss the mark and the Storm would hang onto the 66-63 win.

Webb led the way on offense with 13 points, while
Olivia Potter and
Courtney Brady added 10 apiece.

Emem David would chip in seven, followed by Dawson's six.

David would lead the way on the boards with 11 as the Storm held a 56-to-35 edge on the glass.

The Storm would trail 13-12 with 3:59 in the first quarter, but finish the frame on an 11-2 run to take a 23-15 lead into the second quarter.

SE never trailed in the second quarter and would push its advantage out to nine points at 36-27.

The Storm took its largest lead of the day early in the third quarter, going up 43-29, but OBU would rally and SE would hold a 50-47 advantage heading to the fourth.

There the teams would play an even fourth quarter at 16-16, with SE never trailing on its way to the 66-63 win.
