DURANT, Okla. – The Southeastern offense never got moving on Sunday afternoon and Southwestern Oklahoma State scored five runs over the final three innings turn a pitcher's duel into a 7-0 loss for the Savage Storm in the series opener at The Ballpark in Durant.

The loss dips the Savage Storm to 3-15-1 overall and 2-8 in Great American Conference play with the series set to conclude with a double-header on Monday slated for a noon first pitch.

Travis Spinney,
Hunter Harrison,
Cade Clay,
Jett Swigart and
Micah Simmer each collected a hit, with Simmer turning in a double in his pinch-hitting appearance for the only extra base hit.

The Storm would strand four runners, going 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position.

SE got a solid start from
Hayden Grimes who tossed 6.0 innings but took the loss after allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits with a pair of strikeouts.

Jake Patterson would get tagged for a pair of unearned run on three hits with a K in two-thirds of an inning of relief before
Michael Brinska came on to toss the final 2.1 innings, allowing two runs on four hits with two strikeouts.

The game was a pitcher's duel early with the Bulldogs picking up a run in the third on a sac fly and one in the fourth on a balk and the score would remain 2-0 through six innings.

Unfortunately, SWOSU would put up three in the seventh and add one in the eighth and another in the ninth while the Storm was unable to answer, fashioning the 7-0 final score.
