Softball Swept by Sixth-Ranked HU

SEARCY, Ark. – Southeastern took No. 6 Harding to extra innings in their series opener, but would fall 2-1 in eight innings and was unable to bounce back in the nightcap with a 7-2 loss in game two on Friday in Searcy, Ark.
 
The losses dip the Savage Storm to 14-16 overall and 8-11 in Great American Conference play with a double-header set for noon on Saturday to finish out the series.
 
The Storm struck first in the opener as Destiny Riddle would homer to left to take a 1-0 lead in the fourth.
 
The Bisons would even the contest with a run in the sixth, eventually forcing extra innings.
 
SE would get a hit in the eighth from Emily Cudd, but could not bring her in, but HU would collect a two-out RBI double in the bottom half to swipe the game 2-1.
 
Keeshia Thompson added the team's third hit in the outing, with Riddle's home run being the only RBI.
 
Cudd tossed 7.0 innings and was hit with the loss after allowing two runs, one earned, on eight hits.
 
Riddle would record two-third of an inning of work, facing two batters and striking one of them out.
 
In game two, Riddle, Thompson and Conner Harmon would each collect a pair of hits with Symphoni Shomo adding one.
 
Harmon would record the team's lone RBI.
 
Ashley Moore got the start and tossed 2.0 innings and was tagged for three runs on five hits, with Riddle throwing 4.0 innings in relief and allowing four runs on five hits.
 
The Storm struck first in game two as well, with Harmon connecting on an RBI single to right to plate Riddel in the first inning.
 
That was followed by Thompson stealing home for a 2-0 lead.
 
HU would chip away at the SE advantage with a run in the second before taking the lead with a three run third inning.
 
The Bisons would add three more runs in the sixth inning to set the final score of 7-2.
