DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern exploded for six runs in the sixth inning, including a walkoff
Keeshia Thompson grand slam, to earn a 10-1 win in six innings in Saturday's opener against Northwestern Oklahoma State, and polished off the series sweep with a 3-2 win in the finale at the Southeastern Softball Field.

The sweep lifts the Savage Storm to 11-7 overall on the season and 5-3 in Great American Conference play heading into its first GAC road series of the year, a March 10-11 trip to Weatherford, Okla., for a four-game series against Southwestern Oklahoma State.

In the opener, Thompson posted a 3-for-4 outing with a double and a pair of home runs while driving in six RBI in the contest.

Symphoni Shomo,
Jordyn James and
Mykaela Wallace each added two hit outings and overall eight of the 10 hitters who saw an at bat collected a hit.

In addition to Thompson's six RBI,
Destiny Riddle and James each drove in one.
Â
Emily Cudd tossed another complete game, scattering a run and six hits over six innings with four strikeouts.

Conner Harmon double was compounded by a throwing error by the NWOSU left fielder in the first inning allowing Harmon and
Kennedy Salyers to score and take a 2-0 lead.

The Rangers got a run back in the top of the second, but Thompson would smack her first homer of the day in the bottom half, scoring herself and Wallace for a 4-1 lead.

The offenses went quiet until the bottom of the sixth inning and Shomo turned in a one-out double, scoring two batters later on a Riddle RBI single.

Harmon would then reach on an error, followed by an RBI single by James to make it 6-1.

A Wallace walk would load the bases for Thompson who ended the game via the run rule with a grand slam to left field to make the final score 10-1.

The finale played like a pitcher's duel, with
Ashley Moore collecting her first decision of the season after tossing five innings and allowing a run on four hits with a pair of strikeouts and moving to 1-0.

Cudd then came back tossed the final two innings and allowed a run on two hits with one strikeout to earn the first save of the year.

Riddle and Harmon each collected a pair of hits, while James and
Kailyn Blackwood added one each.

Harmon would drive in a pair of runs while Riddle had one RBI.

NWOSU took a lead on a solo homer in the second inning and it was not until the fifth inning that SE found an answer as Riddle would double home Shomo to knot the game at 1-1.

One batter later a Harmon double would drive in Salyers and Riddle to open up a 3-1 lead.

The Rangers would get another solo homer in the top of the sixth, but the Storm would hold off any rally for a 3-2 win.
