DURANT, Okla. – A late scoring outburst by Texas A&M-International turned a pitcher's duel into a 7-2 loss by Southeastern on Wednesday afternoon at The Ballpark in Durant.

The Savage Storm slip to 3-14-1 on the season and will play its first Great American Conference home series March 10-11 when it hosts Southwestern Oklahoma State in a three-game series.

Seven different hitters collected a hit each for SE, with
Jake Perez connecting on a solo homer and
Hunter Harrison driving in an RBI.

Perez and
Gage Ross would account for the runs scored.
Â
The teams combined to use 13 pitchers over the single nine-inning game, with
Cody Nitson getting the start for the Storm and suffering the loss after allowing three runs on three hits with one strikeout.

Bailey Burks relieved him and tossed two-thirds of an inning and was followed by
Jake Patterson who made the longest appearance of any pitcher on the day, tossing 3.0 innings, scattering three hits and striking out two.

Michael Brinska followed with an inning of work and allowed two runs on two hits, as did
Brandon Wolski who also pitched an inning.

Cory Scheibner would close out the game while allowing three hits and striking out one over two innings.

TAMIU picked up a run on a solo homer in the first and added two more runs in the second to take a 3-0 lead.

Perez would cut into that gap with a solo homer in the bottom of the third to make it 3-1.

In the fifth inning Harrison would groundout to second to plate Ross and close the deficit to 3-2.

Unfortunately, the Dustdevils would get a pair of two-RBI hits in the top of the seventh to tack on four runs and take a 7-2 lead which would prove to be the final tally.
