SE got off to its first 3-0 start under head coach
Bo Atterberry thanks to a 41-35 win over Ouachita Baptist a week ago in Arkadelphia, Ark. The 2002 season was the last such 3-0 start as that team opened 4-0, a feat the 2017 team hopes to match on Saturday.

Saturday's meeting is just the eighth contest in the series history with the Boll Weevils with the Savage Storm holding a 4-3 edge in the series overall and riding a three-game winning streak, including a 44-26 win a season ago.

Southeastern has maintained a potent offense on both the ground and through the air, with the ground game paced by
Kenneth Burks who has turned in back-to-back 100-yard rushing outings and three touchdowns while the Storm are averaging 215.0 ypg rushing.

Through the air
Rollin Kinsaul has stepped in as the starter with the loss of
CB Cantwell and in his first career start last Saturday at OBU tossed for 231 yards and a touchdown on 18-of-30 passing while rushing for a pair of touchdowns as well.

Drake White who has 12 catches for 234 yards and two scores, while
Jaylen Sims has hauled in 12 receptions as well for 169.

The SE defense is third in the GAC in total defense, allowing 341.0 yards per game, including just 159.3 ypg passing, and is second in turnover margin, forcing 1.67 more turnovers per game than they are giving up.

Troy Parker and
Brickey Reed lead the way in tackles, while
Jacob Harper turned in the first defensive touchdown in two seasons a week ago with a 43 yard pick-six in the second half.

The UAM offense is posting 463.7 yards per game of total offense and 35.0 ppg, and revolves around quarterback Cole Sears who has completed 54.3 percent of his passes for 743 yards and six touchdowns while also rushing for a team-high 177 yards and six scores.

His top target is Jalen Tolliver who leads the conference with 20 catches and 328 yards and has added a pair of touchdowns.

The UAM defense has allowed 356.3 yards per game on defense and is holding opponents to 20.7 ppg on the year.
