SE Bounces Back with Win at NWOSU

ALVA, Okla. – A'Torey Everett and Kevin Buckingham combined for 42 points as four players reached double figures en route to a 75-73 victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday night in Alva, Okla.
 
The win is the first by any opponent at NWOSU this season and lifts the Savage Storm to 9-7 overall on the year and 8-3 in Great American Conference play.
 
Everett started in place of Markell Henderson and turned in a season-best 21 points on 8-of-18 shooting with three threes, while Buckingham was 9-of-15 from the floor for 21 points.
 
Jobe finished the night 5-of-8 from the floor for 11 points, while Adam Dworsky chipped in 10 on 4-of-8 shooting.
 
Dworsky also dished out a game-high eight assists.
 
Southeastern finished the night shooting 47.0 percent from the floor overall and 46.7 percent from behind the arc.
 
Buckingham finished the contest with a double-double by tacking on 10 rebounds to lead all players on the boards as the Storm held a 39-to-31 edge in rebounding.
 
Southeastern jumped out on a 9-2 run capped by a Jobe layup and would maintain the lead until the 11:13 mark when the Rangers went up 24-22.
 
A DJ Henderson three would put SE back in front at 31-30 and the teams would trade the lead back and forth with NWOSU holding it until the 45 second mark when Jobe connected on the final bucket of the half and the Storm went to the break, up 39-38.
 
Southeastern opened the second half on a 9-0 run, starting with a Jose Libanio layup and ending with an Everett three to go up 48-38 by the 17:07 mark of the half.
 
The Storm would maintain the lead even as the Rangers closed the gap throughout the second half NWOSU tied the game at 73-73 with 34 seconds to play.
 
Jobe would come up with the go-ahead bucket with 5 seconds to play on a jumper, putting the Storm up 75-73 which would hold to be the final as a Ranger attempt to beat the buzzer would fail.
