DURANT, Okla. – Offensively Southeastern shot 50.0 percent from the field and hit 15 threes, while the defense held Dallas Christian to single digits in each of the four quarters en route to a 98-25 blowout victory in the season opener on Friday night in Bloomer Sullivan Arena, earning head coach
Darin Grover his 200
th victory as the Savage storm head coach.

The win lifts SE to a 1-0 start to the season as they take a week off before traveling to Pittsburg, Kan. To take on Pittsburg State at 11 a.m. on Nov. 16.

Grover picked up his 200
th victory with the win, bringing his record at Southeastern to 200-165, while moving his record as a head coach at all levels to 277-183.

For the Storm,
Katie Webb picked up where she left off before her injury last season, finishing the contest with 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting with a 6-for-6 effort at the free throw line, while turning in a double-double with a game-high 10 rebounds. She nearly flirted with a triple double, matching the team-high with six assists.

Alix Robinson was right behind with 18 points, hitting 6-of-10 from behind the arc and chipping in two rebounds and three assists.

Kamryn Cantwell reached double-digits in her first collegiate game, finishing with 14 on 5-of-10 shooting while adding four rebounds and a pair of assists.

Briley Moon came off the bench with 14 points of her own and added seven rebounds with two assists.

Everyone who checked into the game for Southeastern recorded a rebound, with Webb's 10 leading all players while Moon's seven was next for the Storm, followed by six from
Haiden Williams.

Webb's six assists was matched by
Tracy Johnson who added seven points and four rebounds as well.

The Storm also snagged 13 steals, led by four from Webb, while only turning the ball over eight times across from 26 total assists.

Southeastern shot 44.4 percent and hit four threes in the opening quarter, with the Storm opening on an 8-0 run before stretching it out to its largest lead of 12 points at 21-9 to end the first quarter.

SE opened with the first 14 points of the second quarter and by the midway point had lifted its lead to 35-9 on a Cantwell transition bucket. The lead would grow as large as 33 points before settling on a 45-15 Storm advantage at the half.

Southeastern exploded in the third quarter, hitting 11-of-15 from the field, including a 6-of-9 effort from beyond the arc, and adding a 10-of-12 performance at the free throw line to outscore the Crusaders 38-8 in the quarter and open up an 83-23 lead.

The Storm would ride out the final quarter as DCC's only two points came on a pair of free throws and SE pulled away to the 98-25 final score.
