DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern found the going tough on the final day of the Southeastern Regional Invitational as it dropped all three games in a triple-header on Sunday afternoon at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex.

The Savage Storm fell 4-1 to Newman to open the day before Tarleton State took game two 13-1 and finishing the day with a 2-1 loss to Pittsburg State in eight innings.

The losses drop SE to 2-5 to open the season.

Versus Newman, Six different players each collected a hit, with
Elexis Watson driving in the team's only run which was scored by
Keeshia Thompson.
Â
Symphoni Shomo would add a hit and a walk and steal three bases in the game.

Kelsey Story got the start and suffered her first loss after allowing four runs on 10 hits in 6.0 innings of work with four strikeouts before
Emily Cudd came on to toss the final inning, allowing one hit.

SE got on the board first in the bottom of the second when Watson singled home Thompson who opened the inning with a double, taking a 1-0 lead.

NU answered immediately in the top of the third, getting three runs off a bases loaded double and adding another in the inning to open up a 4-1 lead.

The Storm would strand five runners over the final five innings and was unable to put together a rally.

The Storm offense never got any traction as TSU took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but send 13 hitters to the plate in the top of the third inning and put up nine runs to take a 10-0 lead.

The TexAnns tacked on a three-run home run in the top of the fifth to make it 13-0.

SE put together four hits in the bottom of the fifth with Watson plating Thompson to get on the board at 13-1, but were not able to fight off the run-rule.

Shomo,
Kendyl Dockter,
Kennedy Salyers, Thompson, Watson and
Sydnee Hinkle each recorded hits in the contest, with Watson driving in a run.

Destiny Riddle got the start and took the loss after allowing eight runs on five hits in 2.1 innings pitched before handing the ball to Cudd who gave up five runs on seven hits in 2.2 innings of work.

In the finale Shomo collected a pair of hits, stole a base and scored a run on a Brigance RBI groundout.

Keldey Story tossed all eight innings and allowed nine hits but just two unearned runs while striking out seven.
Â
The Storm got on the board first when Shomo scored on a groundout in the fourth, but PSU would knot the game in the sixth with a run and would score on a single in the top of the eighth to steal the 2-1 win.
