Second Half Gets Away from SE in Loss

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Despite shooting a blazing 72.7 percent from the floor in the first half, Southeastern was outscored 55-33 in the second half and fell 96-75 on Thursday night in Arkadelphia, Ark.
 
The loss dropped the Savage Storm to 11-10 overall and 10-6 in Great American Conference play heading into a 3 p.m. matchup with Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Ark.
 
A'Torey Everett posted 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor, while Myles Nesbitt came off the bench and turned in 15 points.  Jett Jobe added 11 with three three pointers, while Jose Libanio finished with nine and a trio of threes.
 
Everett and Nesbitt dished out five assists apiece, while Jobe added four and Dworsky chipped in three.
 
Jobe led the way on the glass with five rebounds, while Kevin Buckingham and Libanio added four each.
 
Southeastern shot 72.7 percent in the first half and hit 8-of-11 from three point range.


The Storm got off to a slow start and by the 11:03 mark of the first half found itself down 27-14.
 
Everett and Nesbitt hit back-to-back threes to kick start the offense to a 27-9 run to flip the deficit into a 41-36 lead after a Henderson jumper with 1:39 to go in the half and SE would take a 42-41 lead to the locker room at halftime.
 
SE nudged its lead out to four points early in the second half, but saw the offense go on a five and a half minute drought during which the Reddies put together an 18-0 run to mount a 68-54 lead.
 
SE would cut it back to a 10 point deficit twice, but that was as close as it would get as HSU handed the Storm a 96-75 loss.
