DURANT, OKLA. – Southeastern tallied 24 hits over two games and took advantage of some big inning to take both ends of a Saturday double-header from Ouachita Baptist, 13-10 and 8-1, to polish off a series sweep of the Tigers.

The wins lift the Savage Storm to 14-16 overall on the year and 9-9 in Great American Conference play.

Eight of SE's nine hitters collected a hit, with
Travis Spinney,
Austin Ferguson,
Brett Akins,
Easton Elliott, and
Joseph Cerda collecting two apiece.
Â
Elliott drove in a trio of runs, while Spinney, Akins, and Cerda each drove in two.
Â
Greg Hubbell got the start and collected the win after allowing seven runs on seven hits in 5.2 innings pitched with five strikeouts.

Scott Brinkly faced three hitters in relief and allowed a run on three hits before handing to
Dallas Guerrero who tossed 1.1 innings and allowed a run on two hits with two K's.

Jake Patterson finished out the game by allowing a run on two hits with three strikeouts over the final 2.0 innings.

OBU opened with a leadoff homer and added a two-run shot in the top of the second to take a 3-0 lead.

The Storm bounced back in a big way in the bottom of the second by sending 13 hitters to the plate and scoring nine runs to open up a 9-3 lead.

Akins and Cerda each had solo home runs in the inning while four others added a single and Swigart doubled.

The Tigers picked up a pair of runs in the top of the fifth, but the Storm had an answer again with a run in the bottom half as Elliott stole home on the front end of a double steal to take a 10-5 lead.

OBU again closed the gap with a three-run homer in the top of the sixth to cut SE's lead down to 10-8.

The Storm answered in the bottom half with a solo homer off the bat of Ferguson and two batter later a two-run shot by Elliott to push the lead to 13-8.

The Tigers would steal a run back on a double in the top of the seventh, closing the SE lead to 13-9.

OBU would score a run on the final play of the game, but Spinney would throw out a runner at third to end it and preserve a 13-10 victory.

Bryce Deatherage was dealing on the hill in the finale, retiring the final 12 hitters he faced while tossing a complete game and allowing a run on four hits with seven strikeouts over seven innings.

Spinney and
Caleb Dubler each collected two hits, while the other seven hitters added one hit apiece.
Â
Spinney drove in three runs, all on a home runs, while Dubler, Akins, Cerda, Swigart, and
Dan Weer added one RBI each.

Dubler singled home Spinney for a run in the first inning, but after allowing a solo homer in the top of the fourth SE blew up for four runs in the bottom half, three on a Spinney homer and another on an Akins RBI single to make the lead 5-1.

A Weer RBI single in the fifth, followed by RBI from Cerda and Swigart in the sixth would push the Storm lead to 8-1 which would hold to be the final.
