Savage Storm Set to Host ATU, HU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern is set to face its first two conference foes from Arkansas when it hosts Arkansas Tech at 5 p.m. on Oct. 11 and Harding at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 12 in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
The Savage Storm are still aiming to snap a losing skid despite winning sets in each of their last five matches.
 
Carolin Griffith and Malaysia Burns each posted double-digit kills in their last outing against Dallas Baptist and both are averaging more than two kills per set on the year, with Burns leading the team at 2.48 kps.
 
They are joined above the two kills mark by Hannah Grant at 2.37 and Aleksandra Rodic who is turning in 2.21 per set.
 
Arabella Bouchard has maintained her lead among the team's setters wince returning to action and is handing out 8.00 assists per set, while Jodi Dixon is adding 7.48 per set.
 
Caitlin Cosby's 5.12 digs per set ranks near the top of the conference and paces the Storm.  She is joined by five others who are averaging 2.25 digs per set or better, including Rodic, Bouchard, Micah Stiggers, Grace Shehadeh, and Dixon.
 
Griffith paces SE at the net with 26 total blocks on the season while Burns is right on her heels with 24.
 
ATU comes into the weekend at 11-6 overall and 4-1 in GAC play with Anyse Smith leading the squad on offense with 3.58 kills per set, while Brianna Merkel is dishing out 7.73 assists per set.
 
On defense the Golden Suns are led by Madison Grantham's 4.02 digs per set, while Greer Rogers has collected a team-high 86 blocks.
 
HU enters the weekend with an 11-6 overall record as well and a 3-2 record in league play with Logan Smith leading the attack with 3.45 kills per set while Sarah Morehead is handing out 9.15 assists per set.
 
The Bisons defense is led by Katherine Cowart's 4.25 digs per set across the back row while Kelli McKinnon leads the way at the net with 39 total blocks.
