COMMERCE, Texas – Southeastern pushed No. 23 ranked Texas A&M-Commerce in the first and third sets, but was unable to pull off the upset, losing 3-0 on Tuesday night in Commerce, Texas.

The Savage Storm will be back in action in the friendly confines of Bloomer Sullivan Arena, hosting Southern Arkansas at 5 p.m. on Oct. 25 and Arkansas-Monticello at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 26.

Aleksandra Rodic led the Storm offense with nine kills, while Malaysia Burns and Caroline Griffith chipped in six each.

Arabella Bouchard handed out 24 assists offensively and led the SE defense with eight digs.

Griffith and Hannah Grant each added a pair of blocks.

Southeastern got off to a slow start in the first set and trailed by as much as 18-10 before putting together a rally, triggered by a Rodic kill and capped by back-to-back aces from Caitlin Cosby which closed the gap to 10-17.

The Storm would close the gap to two points three more times, the last coming at 24-22 before TAMUC would take the set 25-22.

The SE offense never got clicking in the second set as the Lions would take an early lead and pull away for a 25-8 win in the set and a 2-0 lead in the match.

SE kept the third set close but found itself playing catch up, closing the gap to 19-18 on a Griffith and Rodic block.

The Storm would then tie the match at 21-21 on a Grant and Griffith block, but TAMUC would score four of the next five points to take the set 25-22 and the match by a 3-0 score.
