Savage Storm set to Face OU in Exhibition

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern is set for its only exhibition game of the season on Oct. 29 when it heads to Norman, Okla., to take on Division I Oklahoma at 6:30 p.m. in the Lloyd Noble Center.
 
Tuesday's exhibition matchup can be followed on Fox Sports Oklahoma.
 
The Savage Storm come into the contest off a 23-8 season a year ago and were recently named the preseason favorites to win the Great American Conference.
 
SE returns four of its top-five scorers as well as four starters from a season ago, led by GAC Player of the Year and All-American selection Kevin Buckingham who averaged 21.6 ppg and 9.5 rpg a year ago.
 
Kellen Manek was the team's number two scorers from last season at 13.5 ppg, while Adam Dworsky posted 10.7 ppg and is the team's returning leader in assists with 5.3 assists per contest.
 
Buckingham, Manek, and Dworsky each earned all-conference honors last season.
 
Tuesday's matchup will also be a family affair for Manek as he will square off against his younger brother Brady who is a starter for the Sooners.
 
The Storm averaged 82.0 ppg as a team and held an average margin of victory of 10.1 ppg.
 
SE finished the 2018-19 season by earning its first NCAA Division II regional bid since the 2006-07 season, earning a seven-seed and upsetting second-seeded Northern State in the first round by a 115-103 score in overtime.
 
In addition to its 23-8 record last season the Storm finished 16-6 in GAC play and are returning seven players who averaged 13-or-more minutes per game last season.
 
Oklahoma is coming off a 20-14 season in 2018-19 that ended with a second-round loss in the NCAA Tournament.
 
The Sooners return three starters from last season in Manek, as well as Jamal Bieniemy and Kristian Doolittle.
 
Manek is the team's top returning scorer at 12.2 ppg a year ago, while Doolittle averaged 11.3 ppg with a team-high 7.1 rebounds per contest.
