DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern opened the 2019 tennis season with a sweeping 7-0 victory over Arkansas-Fort Smith in cold conditions on Saturday afternoon at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.

The Savage Storm open the season 1-0, winning its season opener for the fifth-straight year and the home opener for the fourth.

SE will be back in action March 1 when it hosts Western New Mexico at 1 p.m. at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.

The Storm opened with a sweep of doubles, starting with a 6-3 victory at the one position by the duo of
Ondrej Nice and
Benjamin Finet.

That was followed in the two spot by a 6-0 win by
Danrich Kruger and
Sandro Lena, before
Juan Scoppetta and
Milos Vuckovic completed the sweep with a 6-3 win at the three spot.

That momentum carried over to the singles competition as Scoppetta picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win, followed by a Lena victory over UAFS number two player, 6-1, 6-1.

Nice continued that momentum in the third spot with a 6-2, 6-2 win, while Finet made it four-straight with a 6-0, 6-2 victory.

Milos Vuckovic continued the straight-set trend with a 6-2, 6-4 win at the five position, while
Jason Roberts stepped into the six spot and survived the toughest challenge of the day, wining 6-1, 4-6, 11-9.
