DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern stumbles at home to Ouachita Baptist 5-2 at home on Thursday afternoon.
SE held the early lead in the match after winning the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and 3.
Eric Poindexter and
Luke Tinnock turned in the first win of the day at Court 3 in a 6-3 victory, and the partnership of Benjmain Fracassi and
Nolan Guerin soon followed with a win at line two to give the Storm a 1-0 lead. Fracassi and Guerin bested the nationally ranked duo of No. 15 Moritz Buss and Aaron Osmond of OBU 6-2 to clinch the point.
However, the Tigers won the first four matches in singles play to go ahead 4-1. Poindexter would pick up the lone win for SE in singles play, rallying to defeat Moritz Buss 4-6, 6-3 and 6-3 at Court 3. Poindexter's match was one of three matches to go three sets, as the Storm forced extra play at lines two and three.
Southeastern (4-9, 1-3 MIAA) heads to Searcy, Ark., for its next round of MIAA/GAC action on Thursday, April 9, to battle No. 40 Harding at 1 p.m.
