DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern's 
Katie McCullar collected a pair of wins in the circle as Southeastern swept day one action against Great American Conference leading Arkansas-Monticello, taking the opener 7-0 before picking up a 4-2 win in the nightcap at the Southeastern Softball Field.
 
The wins lift the Savage Storm to 10-14 overall on the year and 8-6 in GAC play with the final two games of the series slated for a noon double-header on Sunday.
 
In the opener, 
Elexis Watson posted a 4-for-4 effort, including three doubles, while 
Symphoni Shomo, 
Ivy Amador, 
Karsyn Brigance, and 
Mykaela Wallace each added a pair of hits.
 
Destiny Riddle accounted for two RBI, while 
Keeshia Thompson, Amador, and Brigance added one each.
 
McCullar collected her first complete-game shutout in the win, scattering three hits over seven innings with four strikeouts.
 
Brigance put SE on the board with an RBI double in the second inning, while Watson would come home on an error in the second to make the lead 2-0.
 
Brigance would score in the bottom of the fourth on a throwing error, and an Amador RBI single in the fifth would stretch the lead to 4-0.
 
Riddle followed up in the sixth inning with a two-run single which was followed by a Thompson RBI groundout to push the lead to 7-0 which would be the final.
 
Shomo, Riddle, and Brigance each picked up two hits in the nightcap, while Riddle drove in two with 
Kamarie Wallace adding an RBI.
 
Emily Cudd got the start and tossed 3.0 innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits and taking a no decision.
 
Riddle tossed two-thirds of an inning in relief and allowed a hit before McCullar came on to throw the final 3.1 innings and pick up the win after allowing no runs on two hits.
 
A Riddle RBI double in the first would score Shomo and give SE a 1-0 lead.
 
Wallace and Riddle would each single home a run in the third before Shomo stole home on the hang-up play to take a 4-0 lead after two innings.
 
That was all they would need though as UAM picked up two runs in the third, but would find the plate no more as the Storm picked up the 4-2 win.
