DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern was unable to carry its day one momentum into day two of its series against Arkansas-Monticello, falling in the opener 9-4 before seeing its rally in the finale fall short in a 4-3 loss.

The Savage Storm slip to 10-16 overall on the season and 8-8 in Great American Conference play.

In game one
Elexis Watson was 2-for-2 at the plate with a home run and a double while drawing an intentional walk and a hit by pitch to reach base in every appearance.

Keeshia Thompson added a two-run homer to finish with two RBI, while
Katie McCullar drove in one as well.
Â
Symphoni Shomo,
Destiny Riddle, and McCullar each added a hit.

McCullar got the start and was saddled with the loss after allowing six runs, five earned, on eight hits with four strikeouts in 4.1 innings pitched.

Riddle would toss 2.2 innings in relief and allowed three runs on five hits.
Â
UAM got on the board first with two runs in the top of the first inning, but the Storm got a big answer in the bottom half as Watson doubled and was driven in a batter later when Thompson homered to left center to knot the game at 2-2.

Southeastern would take the lead in the bottom of the third as Watson would get into the home run business and connect on a solo shot to left to push the Storm ahead 3-2.

The Cotton Blossoms would answer with a four-run fifth inning to swipe the lead back at 6-3.

The Storm would get a run back in the bottom of the fifth inning on an RBI single by McCullar to plate Shomo and close the gap to 6-4.
Â
However, UAM would nearly mirror their fifth inning with a three-run effort in the top of the sixth to leave SE in a 9-4 hole midway through the sixth inning which would hold to be the final.

 In the series finale, Riddle connected on a pair of hits, while five others had a hit apiece.

Riddle, Thompson and
Mykaela Wallace each had an RBI.

Emily Cudd got the start and took the loss after throwing 6.1 innings and allowing four runs on six hits with eight strikeouts, while McCullar and Riddle each recorded one-third of an inning.

UAM took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, and the Storm would answer in the bottom of the second inning when
Mykaela Wallace laid down a squeeze bunt that scored
Ivy Amador and closed the gap to 2-1.

However, the Blossoms would tack on a run in the top of the fifth and another in the sixth to extend its lead to 4-1.

SE rallied in the bottom of the seventh with a run on a Riddle RBI single before Thompson connected on an RBI infield single to close the gap to 4-3 which would be the final.
