ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Southeastern opened its series with Ouachita Baptist with a 7-2 win but dropped the nightcap in extra innings 4-3 on Sunday afternoon in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 14-15 overall and 8-10 in Great American Conference play with the series finale scheduled for 1 p.m. on Monday afternoon in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Austin Ferguson and
Colton Buckner each pounded out three hits in game one to lead the way, while
Drew Bolin,
Davis Jenks,
Luke Thomas, and
Chris Eusay each added a hit.
Â
Eusay connected on a home run, while Jenks added a triple. Buckner posted two doubles, with Ferguson and Thomas adding a double each.
Â
The Storm finished with 10 hits on the contest, six of them for extra bases.
Â
Jenks drove in a pair of runs, while Bolin, Ferguson, Buckner,
Caleb Dubler, and Eusay each added an RBI.
Â
Cody Nitson got the start and went the distance, scattering seven hits and two unearned runs over nine innings while striking out 12 to pick up the victory.
Â
Eusay homered to lead off the third inning and put SE in front 1-0.
Â
That lasted until the bottom of the fourth when OBU would take advantage of a pair of SE errors and put up two unearned runs to take a 2-1 lead.
Â
Neither team would score again until Jenks stepped to the plate with two on and one out in the top of the eighth and connected on a triple to score Buckner and Ferguson and put Southeastern ahead 3-2.

Dubler would tack on a sac fly a play later to score Jenks and make the lead 4-2.

In the top of the ninth a Bolin single plated Eusay and was followed by a Ferguson double to plate Bolin to stretch the lead to 6-2.

Buckner would add on a sac fly later in the inning to score Ferguson and move the score to 7-2 which would hold to be the final.
Â
In game two the Storm got a trio of hits from Bolin, a pair of hits each from Ferguson and Jenks, and a hit apiece from Dubler and
Harrison Whitworth.

Ferguson, Dubler, and Whitworth each recorded an RBI.
Â
Mason Whitmarsh got the start and tossed 5.2 innings and left with a no decision after allowing three runs on eight hits with three strikeouts.

Logan Teske came on in relief and took the loss in extra innings after allowing a run on two hits with two K's in 2.0 innings of work.

The Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run homer.

SE answered in the top of the second, cashing in a leadoff triple by Jenks on a sac fly by Dubler to score Jenks and cut the deficit to 2-1.

Two batters later a Whitworth double would plater
Hunter Capps and tie the game at 2-2.

OBU tacked on a run in the bottom of the third inning, and the Storm again found an answer, this time in the sixth inning on a Ferguson RBI double to score
Slayde Ortiz and again tie the game at 3-3 and ultimately forcing extra innings.

In the bottom of the eighth OBU would load the bases and SE would get a pair of outs before the Tigers would connect on a walk-off RBI single to hand the Storm a 4-3 loss.
