BETHANY, Okla. – Southeastern bounced back from a series-opening loss in a big way by picking up an 8-0 run-rule victory over Southern Nazarene on Sunday afternoon in Bethany, Okla.

The Savage Storm dropped the opener 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh and the twinbill split moves SE to 19-25 overall on the year and 17-17 in Great American Conference play with the final two games of the series slated for a noon double-header on Monday afternoon.

In the nightcap Keeshi Thompson and
Karsyn Brigance each logged a pair of hits while
Elexis Watson,
Katie McCullar,
Mykaela Wallace, and
Ivy Amador each added one.

Watson would homer and record an RBI, while Thompson drove in three. McCullar, Wallace, Amador, and
Hope Deanda each plated a run as well.
Â
Emily Cudd recorded a complete-game victory after scattering three hits and no runs over five innings with a pair of strikeouts.

In the nightcap Thompson would put SE on the board in the top of the first by bringing in Shomo on a sac fly, followed by an RBI single by McCullar to score Watson for a 2-0 lead.

Wallace and Amador would post back-to-back RBI singles to double the lead to 4-0, and a Deanda RBI fielder's choice would move that advantage to 5-0.

Watson would lead off the third inning with a solo homer to push the lead to 6-0 midway through three innings.

Thompson would put the Storm up 8-0 and help trigger the run rule with a two-run single in the top of the fifth that scored Shomo and
Brittany Chatellier.

The Storm would get a double-play on a fly ball to right in the bottom of the fifth to help prevent any runs from scoring and picked up the 8-0 run-rule victory.

In the opener, McCullar and Wallace recorded a pair of hits each, with Wallace homering.

Watson and Shomo each added doubles, while Brigance picked up a single.

Wallace plated a pair of runs on her home run, while Shomo drove on one on her double.

McCullar got the start and took a no decision after allowing two runs on six hits in 5.1 innings of work.

Destiny Riddle would allow a hit in two-thirds of an inning before Cudd would come on for two-thirds of an inning and allow two runs on two hits to take the loss.

The opener was scoreless into the sixth inning before a two-run homer by SNU in the bottom of the inning pushed the home team in front 2-0.

A McCullar single would open the top of the seventh and she would score on a two-run Wallace homer that knotted the score at 2-2.

Brigance would single later in the inning and come around to score on a Shomo RBI double to put the Storm in front 3-2 midway through the seventh.

SNU would load the bases in the bottom of the seventh, but the Storm would record a pair of outs before the Crimson Storm would get a two-run single up the middle to swipe the game 4-3.
