Storm Tripped up in Midweek Matchup

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern matched Central Oklahoma hit-for-hit but suffered from miscues as its four-game winning streak came to an end with a 9-3 loss on Tuesday afternoon at Mile Metheny Field.
 
The Savage Storm slipped to 18-19 overall on the season and SE will be back in action April 19-20 for a three-game conference match up against Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva, Okla.
 
Austin Ferguson and Colton Buckner each collected a pair of hits, while Caleb Dubler, Davis Jenks, Luke Thomas, and Chris Eusay each added one hit.
 
Buckner collected all three RBI, while Dubler scored twice and Ferguson scored once.
 
Jacob Bigham got the start on the hill and took a no decision while allowing two hits in two innings.
 
Colin Jameson would come on in relief and was tagged for five runs, three earned, on two hits in one inning of work to take the loss.
 
Niko Piazza tossed a hitless fourth inning followed by Jenks who threw an inning and allowed two runs on a hit.
 
Kason Grant tossed the next inning without allowing a hit before Jordan Compton came on and allowed two runs, one earned, on one hit in an inning pitched.
 
Beau Swimmer and Kenneth Klier tossed the eighth and ninth innings, respectively, allowing one hit apiece.
 
Southeastern scored first on a Buckner RBI single to left that plated Dubler for a 1-0 lead after three innings.
 
The Bronchos would answer with five runs in the fourth thanks to an error and four free passes.
 
UCO would extend that lead to 9-1 with two runs in the fifth and two more in the seventh.
 
The Storm would get two runs back in the bottom of the eighth on a two-run single by Buckner to score Dubler and Ferguson and cut the deficit to 9-3 which would be the final score.
