DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern volleyball is set to open the 2019 season, the first under new head coach
Nicole Solum, on Sept. 6-7 with a trip to San Angelo, Texas for the Angelo State Invitational in San Angelo, Texas.

The Savage Storm were picked to finish tied for ninth in the Great American Conference Preseason Poll heading into the season after returning eight players.
Â
That group of returners is led by seniors
Caitlin Cosby and
Sydney Meget.
Â
Cosby was an all-conference honoree a season ago who wrote her name the Storm record book as the program's all-time leader in digs, while Meget led the team in assists and service aces.

In addition to the new coaching staff, SE will also welcome six newcomers to the team, including five freshmen.

SE opens play at noon on Sept. 6 against host ASU who is coming off a 22-10 season and a berth in the NCAA South Central regional tournament.

The Storm will follow up with a second match that Friday with a 4 p.m. contest against Ft. Lewis who finished the 2018 season 9-14.

On Sept. 7 the Storm will open up against Texas A&M-Kingsville at 8 a.m. The Javelinas are coming off a 19-14 season in 2018.

SE closes the weekend against New Mexico Highlands on Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. The Cowgirls are coming off a 9-17 season in 2018.

Southeastern will follow up the 2019 season opening tournament with a trip home to host the Southeastern Classic Sept. 13-14 in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
