DURANT, Okla. – No. 16/19 Southeastern had four double-digit scorers and knocked down 13 threes on the game en route to a 70-46 victory over Ouachita Baptist on Thursday night in Arkadelphia, Ark.
Â
The win is the team's eighth-straight, matching the second-longest winning streak the team has mounted under head coach
Darin Grover. It also improves the Savage Storm to 13-2 overall on the season and 10-1 in Great American Conference play heading into Saturday's 1 p.m. matchup against Henderson State.
Â
"The first half was just bizarre," said head coach
Darin Grover. "Kam missed little shots around the basket. Then Katie missed those same shots. It just felt weird the whole time. I'll say this, they have big bodies and whenever they have big bodies and they weren't playing really aggressive. They were trying to stay away from us and not foul, it makes you feel a little uneasy and uncomfortable driving into the middle of the paint."
Â
"But it goes to show you," he continued, "Basketball is a simple game. You've got to hit your shots around the basket and if you hit your shots around the basket you're going to have a lot of success."
Â
Kamryn Cantwell and
Neely Noel each dropped 15 points on the night, with Cantwell hitting 5-of-11 from the floor with a trio of threes while Noel came off the bench and drained 5-of-8 three-point shots to reach 15 points.
Â
Katie Webb and
Logan Oestreich each turned in 10 points, with Oestreich hitting a pair of threes.
Â
Briley Moon, Webb and
Tracy Johnson each dished out three assists on the game as the Storm finished with 15 as a team.
Â
Oestreich led the team on the board with eight rebounds while Webb pulled down six.
Â

Neely Noel followed with six points.
Â
The Storm shot 40.0 percent overall in the first quarter but hit just 1-of-6 from beyond the arc, while in the second quarter the overall accuracy dipped to 31.3 percent while the long-range shooting made up the difference, hitting 4-of-8 from three-point range.
Â
OBU took an early lead, and the Storm trailed 10-7 with 6:00 to go in the opening quarter before a Webb jumper triggered an 11-0 run capped by a pair of Cantwell free throws to take an 18-10 lead with 1:36 to go in the first quarter, eventually taking an 18-11 lead into the quarter break.
