DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern collected six home runs and closed out its season-opening home stand with a 19-6 run-rule victory over East Central in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon at Mike Metheny Field.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 6-6 overall on the year heading into their first road trip of the season to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State on Feb. 21-22 in Weatherford, Okla.

Seven SE players collected hits and every player who hit also drove in a run.

Richard Ware and
Anthony Cassos led that charge with four hits each, with Ware ending the day a triple shy of the cycle while Cassos had a homer and three singles.

Dylan Herd posted a 3-for-4 effort, while
Colton Buckner and
Niko Piazza each added two hits. Piazza's two hits were both homer that left the park in the same inning.

Chris Eusay and
Joseph Ramirez each finished with a hit, with Eusay posting a solo homer and Ramirez doubling.
Â
Piazza had a pair of homers while Eusay, Ware, Buckner, and Cassos each had one.
Â
Ware finished with five RBI, while Piazza and Casos each drove in four.

Buckner and Herd drove in two, while Eusay and Ramirez finished with an RBI each.

KC Bryan got the start and took a no decision after getting tagged for four runs on three hits with one strikeout in 1.2 innings of work.

Jason Porter came on in relief and picked up his first win of the year after allowing two unearned runs on two hits with two strikeouts in 3.1 innings pitched.

Jacob Bigham allowed a hit and no runs in one inning of work and
Logan Teske finished the contest with an inning of work and one K.

Eusay opened scoring for the Storm with a leadoff homer in the bottom of the first inning.

Buckner would follow suit three batters later with a two-run bomb to left hat opened up a 3-0 lead after one inning.

The Tigers responded with four in the top of the second and two more in the third to take a 6-0 lead.

Southeastern bounced back in the bottom half of the inning, first with a Piazza solo homer.
Â
Cassos followed up two batters later with a two-run blast to tie the game at 6-6.

A Ware three-run homer later in the inning put SE back in front before Piazza connected on his second homer of the inning, this one a three-run blast to take a 12-6 lead after three.

In the bottom of the fifth Cassos would connect on a two-run single which scored Piazza and Bucker before coming home himself on a Herd RBI double.
Â
Ware would complete the scoring in the inning with a two-run double that plated Herd and Eusay and stretched the lead to 17-6 after five.

Then in the sixth it was back-to-back RBI hits from Ramirez and Herd to tack on two more runs and set the final score of 19-6.
